Lithuanians carrying five puppies and a kitten were forced to observe a scene of execution when Danish customs officers put the animals to sleep on the German-Danish border. Lithuanians were in breach of regulations, therefore just several ...weeks old animals were confiscated and put to sleep, in addition to a fine imposed upon the carriers. Nerilė Kaziliūnaitė, a citizen of Lithuania was shipping five English bulldogs, two French bulldogs and a kitten to a kennel in Denmark. The English bulldog litter was originally shipped from Russia and had successfully crossed borders of several European Stated. However, on the Danish border it appeared that the shipment of animals needed certain permits. “I received a call from the customs and told to pay a fine from the import of the puppies, I said OK, where?" . Then I immediately started looking who in Copenhagen could pay the fine. I would have paid the fine. Then, five minutes later they called me again, and said: ' " No, we have changed our minds, the puppies will be killed, put to sleep here and now”, - said the seller of the puppies Nerilė Kaziliūnaitė. Such carrier of animals if required to have special permissions" – said Irena Vedrickaitė, the adviser of the Lithuanian Embassy in Denmark. Since the driver did not have any such permits he was sanctioned to a fine of 20, 000 DKK (LTK 9, 260), and the animals were confiscated. “We had to drive about 20 kilometers to a veterinary clinic, we thought they will examine the puppies, but they right in front of us, injected hypnotics, and then the poison, and if a puppy was still breaching, took it out of the cage and injected air right into the heart" - said Marius Ruseckas, the driver. “There is definitely some circumvention with ethics, and psychologically must be quite unpleasant. But if you look at the formal side of the matter, the driver was most probably wrong” – said Irena Vedrickaitė. In view of this incident on the Danish border the woman that was shipping to puppies intends to apply to Animal rights' protection organisations and does not overrule a possibility to seek justice in courts. This story has already triggered interest in the Danish media.

А это потому что все равны, но кто-то ровнее! "Старших надо уважать".. Я вообще не понимаю таких моментов. Слышал про подобное в Швеции, но думал, что очередные "куриные" страшилки, оказывается нет..
